Nursery Aims
"Every child deserves the best possible
start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child's experience
in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances.
A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in it's own right,
and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of
their abilities and talents as they grow up. When parents choose
to use early years services they want to know that provision will
keep their children safe and help them to thrive. The Early Years
Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework that provides that assurance"
(Extract from The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework)
The aims of the nursery are to provide a safe and well-balanced
environment for children. An environment which meets all children's
needs from care to education of a high standard. Working closely
with the EYFS framework we are confident that all children in our
care will achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying
safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving economic well being.
What education will we provide?
We will provide education taken from the Early Learning Goals, we
will offer educational needs in six areas, which are Personal, Social,
and Emotional Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World
and finally Mathematical Development.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.
This area is where children can develop personal skills such as
being independent and completing tasks unaided such as bathroom
skills, gaining social skills by working and playing with other
children of the same age and finally gain the knowledge needed to
express feelings in a variety of ways i.e. though discussion, play
and learning.
Physical Development.
This is an area where children can develop gross motor skills such
as hopping, skipping, jumping, running, etc by using a wide range
of equipment around nursery building, it is also where children
can use and develop their fine motor skills for drawing, colouring,
painting, chalking, cooking, etc. In this area children can also
learn about special awareness for themselves and other people in
the environment with them.
